Fruits and Horticultural Technology(FHT)
Central Tissue Culture Laboratory

The Central Tissue Culture Laboratory is located at the LBS Building, Pusa Campus, New Delhi. This laboratory has all the necessary equipment required for plant tissue culture, especially for perennial fruit trees. The laboratory is mainly devoted to standardiz ation of the in vitro regeneration of fruit crops, viz., mango, citrus, and grape and subsequently screening for the salt and low moisture stresses to the targeted fruit crop species. The protocols for somatic embryogenesis of mango and citrus are also standardized in this lab. The in vitro mutagenesis protocols for many fruit crops were also standardized in this lab. This lab is open for all the PG students and Scientists of the Institute for work related to tissue culture of various agriculturally important crops.

Fruit Physiology Laboratory

This laboratory is equipped with all the necessary equipment required for the physiological studies of the fruit crops. Facilities like spectrophotometer, temperature-controlled centrifugation unit, water bath, etc. are available in this laboratory. The primary activities undertaken under this laboratory are estimating the photosynthetic pigments, antioxidants enzymes and phenolic compounds amongst the fruit crops. These laboratory facilities are accessible to all PG students and Scientists of the Division to perform the various aspects of physiological studies on fruit crops.

PG Laboratory

This laboratory is equipped with a spectrophotometer, centrifuge unit, water bath, double distillation unit, etc., to assess various quality parameters amongst the fruit crops. This laboratory is especially accessible for Post-Graduate students pursuing their masters and Ph.D. research work
